angaza Students are called upon to strive for not merely academic achievement, but rather a wholesome personal integration which includes spiritual, emotional, psychological, social-cultural, physical and vocational development which enables them to become more authentic persons of faith and more effective ministers in the world today.
Tangaza College is committed to the total growth of its students. Under the office of the Deputy Principal Student Life (DPSL), various services are available to students for their wellbeing and spiritual, personal and holistic adaptation and development.
Student Life Ministry Team
A Student Life Ministry Team is in place to effectively meet these needs of students. In the team are counselors, spiritual directors, Chaplains and other companions on the journey of finding and living out the fullness of each one’s life in everyday opportunities and challenges. The Student Life Ministry Team is at the service of the students as companions to whom students can go for a compassionate listening to their concerns; guidance in dealing with life’s challenges within or outside Tangaza, and skilled accompaniment on their faith journey. A list of their names and modes of contact is on the notice board beside DPSL Office and on the Student Life Ministry board beside reception.
Community
Exchange
Tangaza College has the richness of about 100 religious communities
that send students to study here. This variety provides opportunity
for all the students- religious and lay – to further their
understanding and appreciation of the gift of religious life I in
the church. An opportunity to deepen this knowledge and appreciation
beyond interaction in the college is provided through the community
exchange experience, which takes place every February, under the
auspices of the Formation Council. The following are college Directives
regarding the organisation and administration of the Community Exchange
experience.
Sports
Committee
Under the co-operation of the SRC Sports Representative, a sports
committee has been raised to assist the sports representative in
organising and coordinating all the sporting activities within the
College and sports interactions with other colleges, in a healthy
communal atmosphere and with the spirit of good sportsmanship.
Student Publications
Student publications are permitted, as long as they are under the
general supervision of the college Administration. The editors and
authors of such publications take full responsibility for what is
published. Tangaza update is a College newsletter published monthly
within.
Events
The following are the General Major Calendar events of the Student
Body:
• Welcoming Party
• Cultural Day
• Sports Day
• Christmas party
• International Women’s Day
These events are organised by the SRC Executive through its various
committees.
Student
Discipline
In conjunction with the Principal and the College Administration
at different levels in the College, the office of the DPSL also
develops and puts into operation disciplinary procedures among students
in the College. Disciplinary procedures are aimed at promoting an
environment conducive to the achievement of the corporate goals
of the members of the College community. The College thus endeavours
to ensure that in the midst of an increasingly diverse community,
respect for self and others, as well as maintenance of professional
standards is guaranteed. In the Students Handbook, a section on
Student Behaviour, underscoring the Spirit and certain minimums
of conduct expected of Tangaza students inside and outside of the
College is included. Top
