hanks to the generosity of a donor group, the Institute of Social Ministry, Tangaza College, is able to offer 3 tuition scholarships for the B.A. in Social Ministry (Sciences and Praxis of Human Development). Tangaza College is a constituent college of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. The Institute of Social Ministry is committed to the development of Africa based on its human, local, cultural and material resources and its openness to the whole world. The College is enriched with the presence of an international faculty and student body. The Institute of Social Ministry degree qualifies the students with:

This scholarship is offered with the aim of building the capacity of communities and groups committed to social transformation and to the role of Peace Building and Conflict Management facilitation. The scholarship is open to people of all faiths.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The applicant must be already active in Peace Building and Conflict Management initiatives in his/her community for a period not less than two years or more.
  • The applicant must be recommended and sent by the community or group he/she has been serving or working for the above period.
  • The applicant must have a minimum University entry requirement or its equivalent.
  • The applicant must have a contract or commitment to be active in the same field for a minimum of 3 years after graduation with the group/ community or organization that is recommending him/her.
  • The applicant must abide with the general commitments demanded of all scholarship beneficiaries at the Institute of Social Ministry, Tangaza College – The Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
  • The applicant must have ability to cater for any other living expenses while at the College for studies.
  • The applicant has to be committed to undertake a full-time course of study, including fieldwork attachment.

PROCEDURE

  • Applicants must write a letter of application to the Institute of Social Ministry, explaining their current involvement in Peace Building & Conflict Management and enclosing
  • Photocopies of all their academic certificates, transcripts, etc
  • Recommendation letter from their faith group or organization,
  • 2 passport photographs.
  • Applicants should also give their full contacts – email, mobile, physical address, etc
  • Female applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Those candidates who meet the basic requirements, and are short-listed for interview shall be called through their telephone contacts.
